We all know I love shopping and have a soft spot for the quirkier Irish owned shops so you can imagine my joy when I heard about Damsel in the Dress, Corks newest addition to the fashion scene.
The store is based just off the Coal Quay, a 2 minute walk from Patrick Street. It is the baby of Gráinne Johnson, a seriously stylish lady who has recently returned home from living in London. Equipped with all the knowledge on the latest fashion and accessory must haves from one of the worlds most noted fashion hubs, she’s channelled it into her own shop and it shows 🙂
I popped in for a peek around and I wasn’t disappointed. The shelves and walls are adorned with novelty handbags and clutch bags similar to what has been brought to the runways by the likes of Moschino and Olympia Le Tan. Here is a sneak peek of some of the treasures you can find in store:
Damsel in the Dress also stocks clothing and there are a lot of unique and beautiful pieces to choose from. There is an outfit for every occasion with all kinds of patterns, prints and embellishments – perfect additions to any wardrobe.
I was lucky enough to get this super cute milk carton bag (which is pretty much identical to its designer counterpart at a fraction of the price ;)) and I am absolutely in love with it! It will definitely form a staple part of my summer wardrobe.
I uploaded my OOTD to Instagram yesterday wearing it but in case you missed how I styled it, here it is:
Next time you’re in and around town make sure to stop by and check out Damsel in the Dress – this shop is going to make a huge mark on Cork!
